B.S. in Engineering Technology: Electrical

Program Overview

Electrical Engineering Technology (ELET) graduates find employment in many sectors of the economy. Almost any aspect of communications, electric instrumentation, power generation and distribution, computer applications and networking, or consumer electronics has a need for graduates with an understanding of the applications of electrical technology.

Career Examples include

  • Systems Administrator for networked computer systems

  • Systems Design for a telecommunications company

  • Avionics Control Systems for aircraft programs

  • Applications Design building power-control systems.

The Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering program is designed to meet the academic needs of individuals who currently hold the Associate in Applied Science Degree (AAS) in an appropriate field of study, but cannot attend classes on campus. The online ELET program is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Therefore we match the rigor and depth of our on campus program via online delivery.

The upper division (junior and senior years) of the Electrical Engineering Technology Program is also offered as a part-time, individual access, B.S.E.T. Degree completion program to address the needs of working adults. The program is the same as the on-campus program; the program content, objectives and outcomes are identical to the on-campus offerings.

All Distance Education courses are available online with the exception of required laboratories which must be completed on campus during the summer.
